An 8-Night Lantern Festival, Buddhist Temple + Elephant Adventure

Baan Boo Loo Village

A corner of the world where the frantic pace of modern life drops away, transporting you to another era entirely (an estate that used to be for traditional Thai doctors)—Baan Boo Loo Village is a perfect sanctuary. Simple living connected to nature and sprinkled with artisan crafts the vibe is enchanting, whispering history of Chiang Mai’s ancient Lanna Capital.

The estate itself is a secluded collection of six beautifully restored Lanna-style wooden houses and rice barns.

Tucked away, just steps from the golden spires of Wat Phra Singh and the vibrant Sunday Walking Street, the village invites you to immerse yourself in Chiang Mai’s famously unhurried pace.

This harmony shapes everything Baan Boo Loo touches, from their commitment to wholesome, locally- sourced food to their gentle approach to well-being.

At Baan Boo Loo, you’re looked after as cherished friends. Begin your days with Baan Boo Loo with the comfort of a traditional, home-cooked Thai breakfast as the morning light filters through the teakwood, and end with the peaceful stillness of the evening. It is a place to find a little warmth, slow down, and simply rest.

Inner Light Retreat

November 10-18, 2027

Reconnect to your inner light + embrace Thai culture during the most magical time of Yi Peng

The vibe in Chiang Mai during Yi Peng is majestic, blending spiritual reverence with vibrant street celebrations and a glowing, dreamlike atmosphere.

Yi Peng Festival dates back to the ancient Lana Kingdom; during the full moon of the second month, releasing a lantern into the sky symbolized: letting go of past sadness, bad luck, and troubles from the previous year; represents a wish or prayer for good fortune, health, and a bright future; and honored Buddha.

Our time here also coincides with Loy Krathong (the Thai Festival of Lights) an annual celebration where people gather near rivers, lakes, and canals to float small, decorated baskets called krathongs onto the water. The family at Baan Boo Loo Village has offered us to join them in honoring Phra Mae Khongkha, the goddess of water, to thank her for life-sustaining water and ask forgiveness for pollution. We’ll make Krathong and enjoy a floating ceremony together at the canal near our the village, sending the basket down the river symbolizes washing away bad luck, sins, and negative feelings from the past year.

In addition to these special ceremonies, expect: daily yoga, a half-day Monk Chat insid Wat Suan Dok, a hike along the Monk’s trail, a trip to the artists village for an optional art class, breathwork ceremonies, sound healings, time to relax in our quiet village, and allllll the delicious nourishing Thai food.

We wrap up our time together with two-nights in the jungle where we’ll hike to waterfalls, swimming with elephants, and supporting indigenous communities

Walk beside elephants through the jungle, swim beneath hidden waterfalls, and spend the night in a traditional Karen hill tribe village deep in the mountains of Northern Thailand.

Among the quiet, you have time to journal, yoga, reflect and integrate the past week with elephant friends.
